Back in 1992, the owner Tony Aurisch started as a pit tech, taking samples from a blast-hole rig. He joined the company that owned the rig, got a shot fired licence and started his drill and blast journey. The three years of experience in drilling and blasting in WA led to shot firing, drilling and supervisory roles in Africa and Central Asia.
In 2008, Tony was back in Perth and wanted to start his own business. He founded Blue Rock Drilling and purchased his first rig sight unseen. Luckily, it turned out to be a good one! The fleet has grown since then, and the company can now provide quality drilling and blasting services. The company is now based in Kalgoorlie, where Tony lives with his family.
